    LBO Crystals

    • LBO Crystals are also useful for high Power SHG conversion, OPCPA and THG conversions.
    • LBO (Lithium Triborate LiB3O5 ) is a nonlinear optical crystal suitable for various nonlinear optical applications.
    • LBO crystals combine wide transparency into the deep UV, relatively high nonlinear coupling, high damage threshold and good chemical and mechanical stability.

    Overview

LBO Crystals (Lithium Triborate, LiB₃O₅) are highly regarded for their performance in high-power laser applications. They are particularly effective for Second Harmonic Generation (SHG), Third Harmonic Generation (THG), and Optical Parametric Chirped Pulse Amplification (OPCPA) conversions.

LBO crystals are valued for their wide transparency range extending into the deep UV, relatively high nonlinear coupling, and high laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT). They also offer excellent chemical and mechanical stability, making them a reliable and durable choice for various nonlinear optical applications.

    Key Features

    • Wide Transparency Range: Effective across a broad spectrum from 160 nm to 2600 nm, making them suitable for various applications.
    • Optimized for THG Applications: Specifically designed for Third Harmonic Generation (THG) at 355 nm, ideal for UV applications.
    • High Nonlinear Coefficient: Exhibits a high nonlinear coefficient of d₃₁ = 1.05 ± 0.09 pm/V, enhancing its efficiency in nonlinear optical processes.
    • Exceptional Damage Threshold: Offers a high damage threshold of up to 30 J/cm², significantly better than standard LBO crystals, allowing for greater power handling.
    • Phase Matching Capabilities: Supports Type I and non-critical phase matching over a wide wavelength range, ensuring optimal performance in various nonlinear interactions.
    • High Optical Homogeneity: Features ultra-low bulk absorption of 2 ppm/cm², contributing to superior optical clarity and performance.
    • Wide Acceptance Angle: Designed with a wide acceptance angle and a small walk-off angle, facilitating easier integration into laser systems and improving overall efficiency.
